Can Breast Cancer cause hair loss before it is diagnosed?

My mom has been loosing hair latley, and it could just be my nerves, but there is some trace of breast cancer in my family. She’s still young, only 38. I’m just a worried teenage daughter, I’m afraid I might loose her…I don’t think she has thought about this fact that it could be something more than just loosing hair, but I just would like to ask the simple question of whether breast cancer can lead to hair loss when it is not yet diagnosed and there is no kemo going on. She has been on a diet, so could that be it?

Please tell me as much as you know.
I’m so worried.

Help in filming a video about Egypt’s Race For The Cure Event for breast cancer?

So i’m a 15 year old girl, and i want to be a journalist, so i thought it would be good experience for me if I fimed, and reported this event, the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure in Egypt. Its on october 23rd, 2010 at the Giza pyramids. So this is my first time doing something like this, i have my video camera, and my digital camera. I’ll bring a notebook to take notes. I’m going to film the event and put my voice with music in the backround. So since this is in egypt, not everyone speaks english… i’m worried about that. I know how to approach people if they spoke english, but everyone speaks arabic. How do i approach them? How do i find the right people to interview, survivors, sponsorers, who speak english??
I need help..
also what kind of questions should i ask them.
What parts of the event should i film, what information should i include?
any tips and advise would really be appreciated!

Im a 19yr old college student from New Mexico. I’m trying to raise $1800 so that I will be able to participate in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in New York this fall. As a fundraiser I am planning to sell silicone/rubber bracelets with a witty/funny statement about breast cancer on them. I’m just not sure what they will say. Any suggestions?????????

Two years ago:
I thought I had heart disease and researched everything on the subject.

Two years ago:
I thought I had AIDS from ONE protected sexual encounter even though tests came back negative. To this day I still think I could have it and am paranoid about passing it on to my current partner.

One year ago:
I had muscle spasms and thought I had Lou Gehrig’s disease. I cried over it and the idea of MS as well. I even went to see a neurologist. Sometimes I think I could still have it because I still get the spasms.

Two months ago:
I had a random flashback to a memory where a friend and I explored each others underwear and bra ( I was 8 and she was 7), and suddenly I was paranoid that my behavior was not normal for that age and that I’m some sort of child molester. I can’t watch crime episodes now because I feel guilty about possibly being one.

One month ago:
Then I felt guilty about watching porn on occasion and wanted to know the verified ages of all the people involved in the videos so that I wasn’t some kind of abuser or sex offender. I stay away from any porn now ( I didn’t watch it often anyways).

One week ago:
I found out one of my family members is gay. Shame on me for thinking this but, I thought that maybe I could be gay too because my close family member was gay. Now I’m looking at women differently and checking to see if I find women attractive or if I get aroused. I try to reflect back on moments in college where I may have felt the need to experiment with women and try to dissect everything that did or did not happen. I even cried at the idea of being gay because I’m in a heterosexual relationship and that would mean it couldn’t continue…even though we’ve been dating for 2 years AND live together!

My heart always races at these thoughts and races even faster when I research the topics. It’s like a sudden swoosh falls upon me and I NEED to have all the available information at my disposal asap along with a panel who will decide if I am or am not X, Y and Z. I need help…but what IS this?
Severe GAD? OCD? Whatever it is, I think it’s time for medication.

How many of you have known or lost someone to breast cancer? Or had it yourself?

What’s the study about?
Researchers at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst are studying the breast cells normally found in breast milk to see if there are any differences in the DNA of women whose biopsies turn out to be healthy and those whose biopsies show a problem, such as cancer. Learning more about these genetic differences may eventually help researchers develop a way to provide women with information about their breast cancer risk.
What’s involved?
You will be shipped a milk collection container, informed consent form, and questionnaire. You will be asked to complete the consent form and questionnaire and to donate about 2.5 ounces of fresh breast milk from each breast. You will put the consent form, questionnaire, and breast milk in a box that will be picked up by Fed-Ex. If a breast biopsy occurs, you will be asked to provide a copy of the biopsy report. Approximately 1 year after sending your breast milk sample, the researcher will contact you to ask about any breast problems you have had in the last year.

Should I be worried about breast cancer?

I’m 21 years old. Found a knot in my breasts 2 weeks ago. The doctor today saw me for 2 minutes and said he felt the knot but thinks its a cyst. That was all he said. My moms cousin died from breast cancer tho. Should I be worried and get it checked again more thoroughly?

Please help- trying not to worry. Cancer?

I am 28 years old, almost 29. I have 2 young children.
Back in October 2008, a little over a year since i had given birth to our first child, I had a mamogram due to a small pea-sized lump just under the nipple in my right breast. I also had an ultrasound done on it and it was presumed to be a small fluid-filled cyst and told it wasn’t anything to worry about. I kinda guessed that maybe it was a plugged milk duct and it would eventually go away.

Since then, I have had another child, but the lump is alway there and hasn’t changed. It also doesn’t hurt. My doctor advised me to keep an eye on it and she would take a look at it again at a later time. Then I read this story today in our local paper http://www.vwindependent.com/ The top story for October 8th, 2010 is about a young woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer after finding a pea-sized lump in her right breast. She was 27 at the time. It was mainly caused by excess estrogen.
I have also been struggling with a hormonal imbalance which includes estrogen dominance and low progesterone. I made an appointment with my doctor for monday, but until then I’m trying to not get myself worried over nothing. So I am writing this out here, in hopes someone could give me some information about how breast cancer in younger women is diagnosed? How can I be sure all the right tests are done to be positive it’s not cancerous?
My Aunt on my father’s side died from breast cancer 3 years ago today. My husband’s Aunt has breast cancer, but it is currently in remission. Really I am just scared. My 2 girls are 3 and 1.

im 13, there are small lumps and almost like pimples in between my chest.. they arent pimples or zits cuz they dont appear red.. they are purple and one is dark purple.. i feel fatuige. ive have migrains for a while.. ive tried doing a self breeast examine but idk if i am doing it correctly, i do feel something but i cant be sure what it is. i have started feeling dizzniess and my eyes have started become affected by bright light . idk if there are any eairly symptoms or warning signs. i need help..
let me know what you think what it is or any other information. thanks!
